Welcome to the Duke Club Baseball Website

Welcome to the Duke Club Baseball site! The baseball club at Duke is open to any undergraduate or graduate student.  The team is made up of guys who love the game of baseball, and want to continue playing on through college.  Practices are held on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 6-8pm.  Games are played in a weekend series format, usually with a doubleheader on Saturday, and a single game on Sunday afternoon.  While the official season is in the spring, the fall season consists of practices and a couple series.  Home games are played at Erwin Field, located on Duke's Central Campus.

2009 Preview

2009 will be Duke's third year in the NCBA.  After two years of growing, the club is ready for the 2009 season, with the goal of qualifying for the NCBA World Series in May.  The largest class in recent memory has now moved from the fraternity-pledge laden world of freshman into sophomores, and should be able to help across the board.  The freshman class this year is also exceptionally deep, and will be able to contribute when they can attend.  Senior catcher Colin Ratcliffe, in his first year with the club, will certainly be able to help at a much-needed position.  The senior class contains some of the only three-year members of the club, Pat Canning, Frank Lowery, and Mike Schneider.  Zarren Kuzma, now out from behind the plate, will bring his solid defense back to the infield.  The pitching looks to remain strong, with all of the leaders in innings returning, and freshman like Nick Shelburne, Zach Powell, and Eric Russman ready to help on the mound.  With our new home field, new unis, and another new freshman class, Duke looks to make this one another good year!
