3rd Annual Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Triangle Charity Golf Classic
This fall, the club baseball program is hosting a charity golf tournament supporting the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Triangle organization (BBBST). BBBST pairs volunteer college students with underprivileged youth from the Triangle area. The club baseball program is involved in the Sports Buddies Initiative which allows for Big Brothers to take their Little Brothers to sporting events in the area.
The tournament will be held at The Crossings Golf Club, only 5 miles from the Duke campus, drawing players and sponsors from all around the community. This year, we have paired with multiple partners to provide the winners of the tournament with a Dream Golf Trip for 4 in Pinehurst, NC!!!
THIS YEAR'S TOURNAMENT - OCTOBER 17TH!!!!!
The tournament will also feature tons of raffle prizes, including
4 Duke Men's Basketball Tickets in Cameron Indoor Stadium
Dinner, Hotel, Brunch, and Golf for two at the Washington Duke Inn ($600 value)
$200 in groceries from Food Lion
$100 gas card courtesy of Erwin Oil Company
Loads of Duke and golf merchandise from clothing to autographed items to golf bags.
Additionally, there will be prizes for closest to the pin, straightest drive, and other events.
NEW for 2009: Win a BRAND NEW CAR with a hole in one!!! Insurance provided by Mark Jacobson Toyota.
The $60 per player entry fee covers lunch, a round of golf, and entry into all raffle prizes. The buffet lunch beginning at 12pm, thanks to Tom Meyer at The Q Shack!
Pre-registration will begin at 11:30am, lunch and raffle prize drawing from 12-1, and the tourney kicks off at 1pm with a shotgun start.
